Tommy Steiner , civil: Karl-Heinz Steiner, (born October 7, 1962 in Aalen ) is a German pop singer .

Life

Steiner learned guitar , drums and diatonic accordion as a child . At the age of 15 he became a member of the local band "Diamonds Original", with whom he gave concerts and played at dance music events.

After school he did his military service and then studied business administration and law . On the side, he applied to a singing competition, which he won.

Jürgen Kramer produced the single Die Fischer von San Juan with him , which immediately gave him a hit. This was followed by more singles like The fairy tale of Rhodes , The eternal fire , If your heart doesn't tell you , almost all of them became hits. Steiner was seen and heard in several television programs, such as Die goldene Eins and the ZDF hit parade . With the title Insel im Wind , written by Hanne Haller and Ramona Leiß , he took part in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest in 1988. He also sang the German theme song for the Australian family TV series Neighbors .

In the early 1990s, Steiner was also active as an actor. In 1993 he played in the RTL comedy Reverend Erbt das Paradies , directed by Otto Retzer . His acting colleagues included Hans Clarin , Jochen Busse , Dagmar Koller , Kurt Weinzierl and Julia Biedermann .

Steiner is now mainly active as a composer , copywriter , producer and publisher . Among other things, he writes titles for his colleagues Michelle and Leonard . But he has also repeatedly released new singles and albums as a singer.

On the occasion of his 30th stage anniversary in September 2013 Tommy Steiner not only released the album Follow the Fever , whose single of the same name was released at the beginning, but also a compilation of the most successful tracks from 30 years of his career.
