Leonard (singer)
Leonard (* 3. January 1964 as Carlo Schenker in Seedorf , Uri , Switzerland ) is a Swiss is pop singer , presenter , songwriter and style between pop and pop music to classify. Leonard has been active in the hit industry for 35 years and has released 26 long-playing records.
Life
Family and education
Leonard grew up with three brothers in Seedorf. His father was a manager, his mother a teacher. After finishing school, he first completed an apprenticeship at a shoe manufacturer as an advertising clerk . Until 1990 he worked as a copywriter for a mail order company. A year later he started working as an editor and presenter for a local radio station. According to his own statement, he was "terminally infected with the hit virus" by Monica Morell's I'll never start again on a Sunday . Morell is also his avowed favorite singer.
Leonard lives in a same-sex partnership, which he artistically processed, among other things, in the song and single release Hauptsache du liebst . He also gave moral support to the cantonal and nationwide partnership law . With the title Don't ask Johnny , he wants to encourage people to come out . Leonard lives in the canton of Lucerne , in Central Switzerland and is in a steady relationship. In his free time he drives a motorcycle and does a lot of sport.

Leonard's singing career began in 1985 when he decided to produce a single: ( Just dream about it ). He wrote, paid for and sold these himself, which stands for his entrepreneurial thinking. In 1987 the first single was released in Germany and in 1989 the first album Reise in die Zärtlichkeit . He had his first big hit in 1989 with Voulez-vous danser . After that, other singles appeared, almost without exception becoming hits. Leonard has been a guest at numerous television and radio events. He appeared several times in the ZDF Hit Parade and the German Schlager Parade as well as other programs such as Strasse der Lieder , Schlagermagazin and ZDF TV Garden . In addition, numerous tours have taken him to Germany , Austria , the Netherlands , Belgium and Italy . He has also made guest appearances in Egypt , Dubai , the Caribbean , New York , Toronto , Finland , Greece and Thailand .
In 1997 Leonard took part in the German Schlager Festival and achieved 2nd place with Wo Liebe Leben ("Silver Muse"). In 1998 he took part in the Schlager Grand Prix , where he took 7th place with Ich bin da .
Besides being a pop singer, Leonard also acts as a moderator of entertainment events. In 1997, Swiss television offered him the moderation of the hit show Schlag auf Schlager , which was broadcast from 1998 to 2000. A sequel followed in 2001 under the title Hit on Hit , a move from Monday to Saturday evening under the name Rondo Mondo in 2002 did not meet expectations. Leonard gave up the moderation after only one broadcast. A high point of his career was the moderation of the "Grand Prix of Folk Music" in 2000, as well as several Swiss preliminary decisions for the Grand Prix of Folk Music. Until 2006 Leonard published with Koch-International and Koch-Universal , since then his records have been released by DA-Music in Diepholz .
