Hannelore "Hanne" Haller (born January 14, 1950 in Rendsburg ; † November 15, 2005 in Tegernsee ) was a German pop singer , composer , lyricist , music producer and sound engineer .

Life

Hanne Haller grew up in Schleswig-Holstein . Her mother was an opera singer , her father a banker . During her school days she played drums in Ronnenberg near Hanover in the band The Rooks ( German : "The Hooded Crows"). After finishing school, she began studying sport in 1968, but had to give up because of a serious illness. In the same year she founded a gospel choir . In the 1960s, a single with two songs by Siegfried Fietz (We are only a minority and Broadway) was released on the Christian label Songs of the Happy Message from Gerth Medien .

After dropping out of her studies, Haller trained as a medical-technical assistant (MTA) , which she graduated from in 1970. She then worked in the radiation biochemical laboratory at the University of Göttingen . In 1971 she began her musical career. The producer Georg Moslener produced the single Spring in Vietnam with her , but it didn't catch on. Haller learned to play the piano and was able to record her first album Applaus for Hanne Haller in 1971 . But this work was never released because the record company went bankrupt .

Haller then moved to Munich and learned the profession of sound engineer. On the side she worked in various industries and continued to record. She also began composing in the late 1970s. To do this, she took the pseudonym Hansi Echer . The singer Karel Gott finally published the title Wohin der Wind die Blätter blows, written by her, in 1978 . After a few more singles, in 1979 she got the chance to become known to a larger audience as a singer. She took part with the title Goodbye, Chérie in the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1979 and took seventh place. This was followed by further recordings, for which Bernd Opinioner usually wrote the lyrics. With the title Saturday evening , which he wrote , she achieved her first chart success in 1981 (11th place in Germany). She then founded a music publishing company with Opinion in 1982. In her own recording studio, Haller, who could not read music for all her life, has since produced her own tracks. In the same year, she also got her first golden tuning fork (others followed).

1985 discovered Haller, the group wind , with the song composed by it for all the Euro Vision Song Contest 1985 took second place. After this success, Hanne Haller also wrote new titles for other artists (sometimes under the pseudonym Joan Haliver ) such as Shari Belafonte , Daliah Lavi , Elke Martens , Katja Ebstein (for example, she wrote the ARD song for them in 1986 together with Ramona Leiß -Ffernehlotterie ), Rex Gildo , Lena Valaitis , Caterina Valente , Jürgen Drews , Ingrid Peters , Wolfgang Fierek (she wrote his hit Resi, i get di mit mei'm tractor for him ) and Milva . She also discovered Rosanna Rocci .

After a few minor successes, Haller had her second commercial hit in 1989 with My Dear Man (number 20 on the hit list). After that, Haller was seen in numerous television programs and won several hit parades with her other hits. In 1992 Haller took part in the German Song Festival Schlager '92 and was able to win this competition with her title Schatz, I don't want to complain .

The singer Leon , who she discovered , won the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 with her title Planet of Blue , but was eliminated in a non-public European preselection. At the German Schlager Festival in 1999 Haller achieved fourth place with While you love me .

On February 2, 2003 Haller held her first concert in front of an audience of over 1,200. This launch led them to tour in 2004. Linked to this was after a long time once again a hit: Our Father was frequently played by radio stations and the album middle of the light, the appropriately appeared at Christmas time, rose for four weeks, the German Album charts a.

The artist developed breast cancer in the mid-1990s . She died on November 15, 2005 of complications from her illness. Hanne Haller is buried in the Egenstedt cemetery.

After the death a compilation of the religious songs (We are only guests in this world) was published, which according to the record company was planned anyway.

In 2008 it became known that she had been in a relationship with the presenter Ramona Leiß for four years in the late 1980s .
