Until 1995 there was also training to become a savings bank clerk in Germany .
Austria
The prerequisite for starting the apprenticeship is completing the 9 years of compulsory schooling. Most of the apprentices, however, have a degree from secondary school and / or polytechnic school . As in Germany, the three-year training takes place in the dual system and ends with the final apprenticeship examination . In Austria, this examination also enables admission to the vocational matura (vocational matriculation examination) and subsequently to further higher qualifications. Relevant courses and studies are offered at universities and technical colleges , such as B. Finance or Risk Management .
