The IHK examination certificate is a certificate that is issued in Germany by a Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) after a successful examination in a non-manual trade .

According to Section 37 of the Vocational Training Act (BBiG), the candidate must be issued with a certificate after passing a final examination in a recognized training occupation . Upon request, the performance assessments of the vocational school can be shown there and an English and a French translation can be attached. In the meantime, even without an application, the graduates receive a nationwide certificate in German and English after successfully passing their final examination. The final exam is free of charge for trainees. Around 350,000 final exams are taken every year in front of around 28,000 IHK examination boards across Germany.

The same applies to advanced training examinations ( Section 56 BBiG) and retraining examinations ( Section 62 BBiG). The Chamber of Industry and Commerce issues an "examination certificate" for examinations that are carried out by the chambers of industry and commerce.

The certificate appears in a nationwide uniform layout. It contains information about the candidate, the degree obtained and the examination performance of the candidate. If the occupation or degree has specializations, the specialization in which the examination was carried out is indicated on the certificate.

Further information on the certificate is: - the overall result of the examination with grade and number of points - the vocational school grade, which in the case of a final vocational examination is shown at the request of the examination participant.

In addition to training and further education, the IHKs also carry out technical and specialist examinations which traders (e.g. insurance brokers, dangerous goods officers, road haulage) must successfully pass in order to be allowed to practice their profession. These exams are certified by an IHK certificate .
