Natália Kelly (born December 18, 1994 in Hartford , Connecticut , USA ) is an Austrian singer from Bad Vöslau , Lower Austria . In 2013 Kelly entered the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö , Sweden with her song Shine for Austria .

Life

Kelly came to Austria at the age of six. The daughter of an American businessman and a Brazilian mother took her first steps into music at an early age. She was already on stage at the age of ten in the play Around the World in 80 Days of the children's opera in Baden (2004). Also in 2004 she won second place on the ORF show Kiddy Contest with a duet with Manuel Gutleb. In the years that followed, she successfully took part in the Prima la musica classical music competitions.

From 2005 to 2007 Kelly was a member of the children's pop group Gimme 5, which was signed by Universal Music and reinterpreted Austropop hits. Gimme 5 was produced by Alexander Kahr .

In 2011 Kelly came first in the Austrian singing competition “The Voice” in Vösendorf and received a record deal with Alexander Kahr.

On February 15, 2013 Kelly won the Austrian qualification with the title Shine Austria rocks the song contest for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 . The composers of the title are Andreas Grass, Nikola Paryla, Natália Kelly and Alexander Kahr. Kelly competed for Austria in the semifinals of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 14, 2013 in Malmö . There she could not qualify for the final of the competition and reached place 14 of the 16 participants in the semifinals.
