Athletic career

Horst Nussbaum (1965)

Born the son of a butcher, he first started playing soccer . He was discovered by Hennes Weisweiler and started as a professional at SC Viktoria Köln . From there he moved to FK Pirmasens , TSC Zweibrücken and then to PSV Eindhoven in the first Dutch league. His greatest sporting success was the Dutch runner-up title. In Eindhoven he ended his career as a professional footballer at the end of 1966. He then played as an amateur at Tennis Borussia Berlin until 1976 . On December 5, 1976, the then TeBe coach Rudi Gutendorf used him as a libero in the third round of the DFB Cup at 1. FC Cologne. It was no longer used in the Bundesliga. His (for the time being) last engagement in football was the presidency of Tennis Borussia Berlin from 1992 to 1997, which he ended in the same year after great financial support for the club and the relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga.

Musical career

In 1967 he brought out the first of 15 own records, but was unsuccessful as a singer under the pseudonym Jack White. As a result, he switched to composing and producing. During the 1970s he wrote about 1,000 songs. In 1974 he wrote the song “ Football is our life” for the German national soccer team . White received more than 400 gold and platinum awards.

After White initially worked as a producer for various record companies, from the second half of the 1970s the White productions (by Andrea Juergens , Lena Valaitis or Tony Marshall ) appeared almost exclusively at the Munich record company Ariola-Eurodisc GmbH. In 1987 White established his own music production company White Records , which was still affiliated with the Major Company, which had since been renamed BMG Ariola München GmbH.

In September 1999 White founded Jack White Productions AG in Berlin, where he was temporarily chairman of the board . The White Records company was incorporated into JWP AG. The turnover of Jack White Productions in 1999 was 4.8 million DM and could be improved in 2000 to 7.4 million DM. The company, which only had eight employees, held the rights to 12,000 titles at the time through acquisitions and was aiming to expand its catalog to 75,000 to 100,000 titles.

In 2004 Jack White's record company worked with artists such as Ira Losco (I'm in Love Again ) and Wonderwall (Come Along) , but could not build on past successes. As a producer of Hansi Hinterseer, however , he has been inspiring fans of folk music since 1994 . He also discovered the young Israeli singer Liel Kolet . In 2005 Jack White Productions AG (through its participation in the Puerto Rican label VI Music ) achieved a worldwide top ten hit with the artist Daddy Yankee and his hit Gasolina .

On August 1, 2007, Jack White was released from the dispute by Jack White Productions. White lost all influence on the company named after him and the music production White Records as well as on the entire catalog of the recordings he produced for this company. In order to eliminate the name “White” from the company name, the AG was renamed “7days Music Entertainment AG” some time later. At the beginning of 2008, White entered the music production and recording business again with the establishment of Gloriella Music .

In the program Das Fest der Beste with Florian Silbereisen , he announced in 2014 that he would end his career, which he did on May 31, 2014 with an appearance on Silbereisen's program Das Sommerfest am See .
