Jermaine Jackson
Jermaine LaJaune Jackson (born December 11, 1954 in Gary , Indiana ) is an American singer. Since his conversion to Islam in 1989, he has called himself Muhammad Abdul-Aziz .
Life
Jermaine Jackson is a brother of the pop stars Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson . His parents are Joseph Jackson and Katherine Jackson .
At the age of 15 he got a record deal with Motown Records with four of his brothers under the name Jackson Five .
Following by far, Jermaine made the Jackson siblings' third most successful solo career. Similar to Michael of Motown Group Jermaine's talent and his image as a heartthrob tried the Five to market early in parallel with the success of the group solo.
After the brothers in 1975 to the record company Epic and the name changed to Jacksons , Jermaine stayed as a solo artist with Motown. He was now married to the daughter of Motown founder Berry Gordy. It wasn't until 1980 that he achieved a top ten hit in England with Let's get serious . In Germany he had a number 1 hit in 1984 with the title When the Rain Begins to Fall, sung in a duet with Pia Zadora . The title was at the top of the German charts for four weeks and received a gold record ; The more famous brother Michael achieved neither with a single single in Germany in the 1980s . He converted to Islam and changed his name while touring the Middle East in Bahrain . He is the father of six sons and three daughters. During the funeral service for his brother Michael Jackson , who died on June 25, 2009 , he sang the song Smile and paid him respect and recognition on behalf of the Jackson family . On September 26, 2009, he wanted to hold a tribute concert in front of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna . However, it was canceled on September 11, 2009 as many stars were unable to attend due to the short time window and other obligations.
