Marika Lichter (born Mariza Lichter in Vienna on October 24, 1949 ) is an Austrian singer , actress , and music manager .

Life and accomplishments

The daughter of a Polish father and a Hungarian mother, both Holocaust survivors, began playing the piano and taking dance lessons from the age of 3 . From the age of 12 she took piano lessons at the Vienna Conservatory and from the age of 14 she took singing lessons with Alice Gross-Jiresch. After graduating with a diploma in opera singing, further studies with Ruthilde Boesch followed .

After her theatrical debut as an operetta soubrette in the Raimund Theater in Vienna in 1971, she took part in one of her first major roles in the musical Mayflower at the Theater an der Wien from 1978 to 1979 . As Dolly in the Gräfin vom Naschmarkt with Marika Rökk , she premiered in 1979 at the Theater an der Wien. In 1980 she was on stage at the Robert Stolz Revue at the Theater an der Wien and at the Theater des Westens in Berlin .

From 1988 to 1991 she played in Les Misérables at the Raimund Theater , Into The Woods at the International Theater, Mr. Puntila and his servant Matti at the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Games and Pariser Leben at the Melk Summer Games.

In the musical Elisabeth in 1992 she was on stage at the premiere at the Theater an der Wien as Ludovika and Frau Wolf ( Uwe Kröger , who was managed by her, made her final breakthrough with the role of Death). The director of this production was Harry Kupfer .

In the children's TV series Die Rätselburg by Thomas Brezina , she played Lady Huberta von Humpelstein in over 50 episodes from 1997 to 2002. On September 6, 2007, Marika Lichter took on the role of Mrs. van Hopper in the musical Rebecca by Sylvester Levay and Michael Kunze at the Raimundtheater.

Lichter is divorced and has a son.

Lichters records and CD recordings have been released in Austria , Europe and South America . She was a participant in international festivals such as B.
