Balázs Ekker
Balázs Ekker (born March 20, 1977 in Győr ) is a Hungarian professional dancer. Ekker was best known in Austria, in the ORF dance show Dancing Stars . From 2005 to 2011 he was a professional dancer, since 2012 he has been part of the international jury.
Life
With his dance partner Julia Polai he reached 4th place in Professional South-American Showdance at the 2001 WDC German Open in Mannheim. He also took part in the 2001 WDDSC European Professional Latin Champ 2001 with Julia Polai. There he reached the quarter-finals and finished in 15th place.
Ekker danced with Arabella Kiesbauer in the first Dancing Stars season on ORF . In the second season he reached the finale with Nicole Beutler and appeared in the third season together with Nina Proll . In the fourth season he was Jeannine Schiller's dance partner and in the fifth season he danced with the German model Gitta Saxx . In the sixth season of 2011 he danced with the Seer singer Astrid Wirtenberger and won the title with her for the first time. Ekker has been on the jury since the seventh season and does not dance with them.
On April 27, 2007 (in the penultimate broadcast of the third season), Balázs Ekker proposed marriage to Alice Guschelbauer at the end of the episode . On May 5th, 2007, they married live in front of the camera in the Dancing Stars studio.
Since 2003 he has been running a dance studio in Győr / Hungary together with his dance partner and wife Alice . Ekker has had another dance school in Wiener Neustadt since 2016.
