Verena Scheitz (born December 14, 1971 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television presenter , actress and cabaret artist .

Life

Verena Scheitz grew up in Vienna. After graduating from high school , which she passed in June 1990, she entered the Conservatory of Vienna in September 1993 , where she studied drama and dance. Subsequently, from September 1997 to January 2005, she studied law at the Universities of Vienna and Salzburg , which she successfully completed in 2005.

As a theater actress, Scheitz has played at houses in Austria and Germany, including Vienna, Baden , Regensburg , Bautzen , Klagenfurt am Wörthersee and Sankt Wolfgang . She also appeared as a cabaret artist. She was a member of the Austrian cabaret group Heilbutt und Rosen . In 2009 she founded the cabaret group SimpsonPaschkeScheitz with Patricia Simpson and Steffi Paschke , of which she has been a member to date. In 2012 they were shown with their program Women from Ambush on ORF as part of the Hyundai Cabaret Days . From October 2013 Verena Scheitz could be seen with her solo program Scheitz Dir Nix on the Austrian cabaret stages and in the context of cabaret in the tower . Since 2016 she can be seen with her second solo program Iss was G'Scheitz .

She also worked in numerous television productions, such as The Race , The Last Gentleman , The Lotto Winner or Austria Votes . Alternating with Elisabeth Engstler and Reinhard Jesionek moderated Verena Scheitz October 2007 to September 2012 in the ORF eve broadcast springtime , summer , autumn and winter , presents in her lifestyle, fashion, high society and current events. From September 2012 to August 2017, she alternated with Wolfram Pirchner and presented the pre-evening magazine heute Leben on ORF.

In 2015 she was seen in One Night in Venice at the Mörbisch Sea Festival . In 2016 she took part in the tenth season of Dancing Stars , which she was able to win together with the dance professional Florian Gschaider .

At the Wachaufestspiele in Weißenkirchen in 2017 she played in Die Fürstin vom Weinberg and Der Hofrat Geiger , directed by Marcus Strahl . In 2017 she was a candidate in the quiz show Spiel für dein Land together with Peter Kraus and Kati Bellowitsch . On December 4, 2017, she moderated the broadcasts on the Licht ins Dunkel campaign day on ORF.

In 2017 she and Conchita Wurst were part of the first-ever cabaret Life Ball opening show. In the same year she also published her first book The Wenzel Test - Mein Dackel, die Männer und Ich with Ueberreuter Verlag . She has been touring Austria with her cabaret show Iss was G'Scheitz since 2016 .

In November 2018 she was on the road for the ORF program The small state visit in Italy . Since January 2019 she has been presenting the early evening magazine " Studio 2 " on ORF 2 together with Norbert Oberhauser .
