Today Leben was a one-hour ORF magazine that ran Monday to Friday at 5:30 p.m. on ORF 2 . Most of the show was moderated by Wolfram Pirchner and Verena Scheitz . Before that, there was the broadcast season on the same slot from 2007 to 2012 . On August 21, 2017, the program was replaced by at home in Austria .

The magazine dealt with general news, partly near the boulevard, mostly from Austria. Great emphasis was placed on regional reporting. The external presenter and former Song Contest participant Elisabeth Engstler reported from the individual parts of the country.
Time and again, the format was supplemented by the so-called business talk , in which ZIB head of economics Christoph Varga presented economic topics. From time to time, Andreas Pfeifer, head of the international ZIB, analyzed the hot spots in the world .

On August 18, 2017, the day of the last broadcast of "heute Leben", Wolfram Pirchner presented the magazine for the last time and then left the company.
On August 21, 2017, heute Leben was replaced by the new format Daheim in Austria , which, like Good Morning Austria, broadcast from a different Austrian location every day. On January 7, 2019, the broadcasting slot was filled again with Studio 2 , a magazine again presented from a stationary Viennese television studio.
