Wolfram Pirchner
Wolfram Pirchner (born April 21, 1958 in Innsbruck , Tyrol ) is an Austrian entrepreneur and former television presenter . In several elections he ran unsuccessfully for the ÖVP .
Life
Pirchner studied English and school music at the University of Innsbruck and instrumental music education and music education at the Mozarteum in Salzburg . Already during his studies he worked as a contribution designer and moderator in the current service of the ORF -Landesstudios Tirol. From 1988 Wolfram Pirchner moderated “Tirol heute” and was also responsible for this local TV show as editor and head of the service. In the main Saturday evening program, he was seen as the presenter of the TV show “Jackpot” and various open-air events.
After two years at Sat.1 in Bavaria, he returned to ORF. From 1993 to 1995 Wolfram Pirchner moderated the main evening news Zeit im Bild together with Hannelore Veit , and from March 1995 also the daily early evening magazine “ Willkommen Österreich ”. Since 2000, Wolfram Pirchner has presented the “Preliminary Decision for the Grand Prix of Folk Music ” every year . He also often moderates music programs such as ten episodes of the “Popular Hit Parade” from 1997 to 1998, the “Superhit Parade of Folk Music” in 1998 and the “Bischofshofener Schanzenfest” in 1999. He has been presenting the “Star Night in the Montafon” since 2003 and was also on stage in 2004 for the first time as the presenter of the “Star Night at Wörthersee”. From 1999 to 2003 he was also the presenter of the program " Sport am Sonntag ". From 2007 to 2012 he alternated with Katharina Kramer and presented the information program Today in Austria . From 2012 to 2017 he alternated with Verena Scheitz to present the evening-before-night magazine Leben .
In 2004 and 2005 Pirchner was honored with the TV audience award Romy as “Most Popular Presenter” . In 2012 he took part with eleven other celebrities in the ORF dance show Dancing Stars , from which he left the sixth show on April 20, 2012.
With the end of live today on August 18, 2017, Pirchner left ORF.
politics
In December 2017 his candidacy was in the state election in Lower Austria in 2018 for the People's Party of Lower Austria announced. For the 2019 European elections , he was ranked sixth in the ÖVP list. In neither of these two elections did Pirchner achieve the desired mandate.
