Hannelore Veit

Hannelore Veit (actually Hannelore Veit-Fauqueux; born June 9, 1957 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and television presenter.

education and profession

After completing her studies at the University of Notre Dame with a “Master of Arts”, Hannelore Veit returned to Vienna, where she obtained a master's degree in philosophy. She then worked as a translator, interpreter and freelance journalist.

From 1985 to 1989 she worked as a radio correspondent for the Vienna office of “ Voice of America ”. Later she was Japan correspondent for the " European Business Channel ". She has been working for ORF since 1989 , first working for ORF radio in Tokyo and then as a freelancer for ORF television.

From 1993 she presented ZiB 1 for ORF , initially together with Wolfram Pirchner and then until October 2002 with Josef Broukal . From May 1999 to October 2002 she also presented the business magazine “ Euro Austria ” on Fridays . From October 2002 to the beginning of 2008 she was part of the team of moderators for the ZiB short messages at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. From March 2008, as the successor to Ingrid Thurnher, she again presented the main edition of the ZiB at 7:30 p.m. Your moderation partner until the end of September 2011 was Gerald Groß . After he left ORF, she moderated until December 2012 at the side of Eugen Freund .

Since the beginning of 2013, Veit has been the office manager in the ORF's correspondent office in Washington DC ( USA ).

Personal

Hannelore Veit is married to a French journalist and has two children.
