Gerald Groß (* 1964 in Vorau , Styria ) is an Austrian media coach and former journalist and TV presenter .

Life

Groß studied German at the University of Vienna and was a student trainee at the Austrian Academy of Sciences for two years before starting a journalistic activity as a freelancer for daily newspapers and news magazines in 1987.

Groß, who grew up in Pinkafeld , moved to the ORF regional studio Burgenland in 1988 , where he had his screen premiere in 1992 as the presenter of the local news program Burgenland Today . In 1997 Gerald Groß went to ORF radio in Vienna, one year later he became news chief of the radio station Ö3 . After a few months he returned to the Burgenland regional studio as editor-in-chief.

In 2001, Groß moved back to Vienna, succeeding Robert Hochner in the editorial team of ZiB 2. After Josef Broukal switched to politics before the parliamentary elections in 2002, Groß took over his position as moderator of the main news program “ZiB 1” and the science magazine Modern Times . Since the reintroduction of double moderation in April 2007, Groß presented ZiB 1 initially together with Ingrid Thurnher and from March 2008 to September 2011 with Hannelore Veit .

End of September 2011, he left the ORF and started as a media coach independently .

Gerald Groß is married and has two children.
