February 2004 until the end of 2007

On February 2, 2004, the program was relaunched and divided into two main blocks. The format got a new person in charge of the broadcast and the “living room of the nation” was enlarged into an apartment. Welcome Austria has been shortened from almost two hours to around 75 minutes. After a commercial break, a five-minute block of contemporary history followed at 6:25 p.m. ( Times views - 50 years of contemporary history ). For the rest of the time slot, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., the consumer program Gutberatung Österreich was included in the program. In addition to the remaining presenters Elisabeth Engstler and Wolfram Pirchner as the presenter duo, the Upper Austrian Karl Ploberger was brought into the show as the fourth presenter, Martina Rupp . On October 28, 2004, the 2,500th issue was broadcast.

The last edition of the pre-evening show Willkommen Österreich was broadcast on March 30, 2007. The last pairs of moderators were Martina Rupp and Martin Ferdiny , as well as Elisabeth Engstler and Wolfram Pirchner , who moderated from start to finish .

Expert tips

A continuous component of all format versions was the involvement of experts , who gave tips and tricks on a daily basis, alternating between one and two weeks, in their specialist area (below at the time of the relaunch in February 2004):

Some of these experts can still be seen in the follow-up format on their weekly TV slots, for example the pharmacist Barbara Haase .

Successor formats at the broadcasting slot

With the program reform of 2007 by General Director Alexander Wrabetz , the Welcome Austria brand was abandoned for the early evening broadcast and the total broadcasting space was divided into three parts starting on April 10, 2007: Today in Austria starts at 5:05 p.m. after the time in the picture , from 6:30 p.m. Renewed consumer magazine Konkret - Das Servicemagazin broadcast. By June 2007, the gap between 5:40 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the broadcast block was filled with the series Julia - An Unusual Woman .

On June 11, 2007, the missing format was broadcast on the slot at 5:40 p.m. with summer time . Depending on the season was the show springtime , summer , autumn and winter . This daily eve magazine is very similar to the original Welcome Austria format. The program was moderated alternately by Elisabeth Engstler , Reinhard Jesionek and Verena Scheitz .

In 2012 the program was renamed Live Today . No content adaptations were made, only the moderation team was changed. The program is now alternately moderated by Wolfram Pirchner and Verena Scheitz.

Re-use of the brand name Willkommen Österreich

The well-known brand name was further exploited with a late night show with Christoph Grissemann and Dirk Stermann as the moderator duo . In the program rail DIE.NACHT 2007 goes since May 31 Welcome Austria as a late-night talk show on the air.
