The race was the title of a six-part Austrian reality show that was produced by ORF television in 2009 . Austrian celebrities were at the center of the action.

concept

In the program, which was hosted by Armin Assinger ( Die Millionenshow ), 16 celebrities were initially trained in alpine skiing by Assinger and Robert Trenkwalder in a training camp that was located in Schladming am Dachstein in October 2009 . The six-part documentary soap was broadcast on Austrian radio from November 10, 2009.

Of the 16 celebrities, one driver and one driver each were nominated for the roster in five programs of the training camp. Another driver was chosen by a public vote. The nominees competed against each other in a qualifying race in the giant slalom which took place on December 18, 2009 on the Planai . The best eight participants (four women, four men) made it to the final, which the ORF broadcast live on December 19, 2009. Together with a former professional skier at the side of every celebrity, they then fought for victory. According to the results of the qualifying race, the fastest celebrity (Andreas Goldberger) was assigned the "ski legend", whose retirement from skiing was the longest (Franz Klammer). Marc Pircher and Stefanie Schuster were the winners of the race.
