Elke Rock
Elke Rock (* March 23, 1983 in Graz as Elke Lichtenegger ) is an Austrian radio and television presenter .
Life
After graduating from the BG and BRG Seebacher in Graz in 2001 , Rock worked as a volunteer at various radio stations . From 2003 to 2007 she moderated at KroneHit Radio and also worked as a music editor. The move to Ö3 followed in summer 2007 . Since then she has worked as a presenter for Ö3 programs such as Hitpanorama , Treffpunkt Ö3. , The Ö3 weekend playlist and Ö3 playlist, as well as the Ö3 main evening show, Radio Holiday and the Ö3 community radio . In 2014 she took over the moderation of the Ö3 show Ö3 Austria Top 40 , the show with the official Austrian sales charts.
In 2013 and 2015, Rock moderated on the Ö3 stage at the Donauinselfest , the largest open air festival in Europe. In 2015 she moderated the live broadcast of the Lifeball on Ö3 and interviewed numerous international guests such as B. Jean Paul Gaultier or Dita Von Teese .
Rock also acts as a moderator at events for companies in Austria and Germany.
Elke Rock is a hobby athlete and advertised a sporting goods company as a triathlete .
In 2014 she received strong criticism for her comments about a supposed Austrian band; in the show Ja Exactly she said that while working she was disturbed by the annoying singing of “some Austrian, completely unknown band that somehow tries to sell us a song that we don't want because it's probably very bad”. However, it turned out that it was the well-known US band Imagine Dragons . Critics took this as evidence that Austrian music was neglected by their station.
On June 4, 2016, she married the entrepreneur Andreas Rock, with whom she had been in a relationship for four years. The two have had a son since 2018.
