Christian Clerici (born November 26, 1965 in Vienna ) is an Austrian television journalist , author and television presenter .

Television career

Christian Clerici began his television career by hosting the ORF music program X-Charts. The rapid chart show in 1989. From 1990 to 1995 he presented the ORF youth magazine X-Large . In 1992 he was a member of the studio band Edelweiss and can also be seen in the video for "Raumschiff Edelweiss". In 1997 he hosted the thousandth Toten Hosen concert .

In 1996 the presenter moved to Germany, where he initially hosted the Oscar nights, a film magazine and various live concert acts for the pay-TV channel Premiere . The ARD noticed him and hired him for the well-known ARD flirt show Herzblatt . Later he was the presenter of the Sat.1 main evening shows Glücksspirale (2000-2001), The Hour of Truth (75 episodes), The Quiz Show (2001-2003) and Little Very Big (2002-2003) as well as the comedy show Best of TV (2001).

From October 2, 2006 on, Christian Clerici presented the game show Sudoku - the quiz - on ZDF . The first season ran with 36 episodes Monday to Saturday in the afternoon program. Due to poor audience ratings , the broadcast concept for the second season was fundamentally revised. This was broadcast on Saturdays at 4:15 p.m. from December 9, 2006. The program could not achieve satisfactory ratings on this slot either and was therefore discontinued in June 2007.

In addition to German television, Clerici also moderated in Austria. In 2004 he presented the Austrian expedition and the show Wahre Freunde on ORF . In autumn 2007 he moderated the four editions of the ORF quiz format 13 developed in-house .

At the same time, Clerici made his debut as a stage actor and took on a role in the tragic comedy "4 after 40", which saw more than 40,000 visitors in Austria (2006–2008).

Clerici took part in several competitions organized by Stefan Raab and had great success: In October 2006 he won the TV total Stockcar Crash Challenge in the 1900cm³ class, in December 2006 he won the big TV total parallel slalom in St. Anton / Tyrol and in October 2007 he took first place in the 3000cm³ group and the victory for his team in the rodeo at the third edition of the TV total Stockcar Crash Challenge . In addition, on March 8, 2008, he won 2nd place in the single wok at the 6th Wok World Championship . At the 8th Wok World Cup on March 19, 2010, he reached 3rd place in the single wok. At the TV total Stockcar Crash Challenge in 2008 he managed to defend the title in the 3000cm³ class. In 2009 he also managed to win this ranking. At the last TV total Stockcar Crash Challenge , in the year of Stefan Raab's resignation from TV, he won again in the premier class.

In 2008 he moderated the event documentary Mein Restaurant for the German TV broadcaster VOX . On September 25, 2010, Clerici hosted the new Saturday evening show Powerplay on ORF, which, however, was not continued. On ATV he moderates the car show autorevue.tv .

In addition, together with the internationally renowned airbrush artist Knud Tiroch, he founded a racing team for historic touring cars. A documentary was filmed about the hot rod hangar in 2009 for the private television station DMAX .

Author activity

Clerici writes for various magazines, including Autorevue . Together with the German writer and journalist Wiebke Lorenz , he had a column in the magazine Cosmopolitan . The book "He says & She says" that resulted from the collaboration was published in autumn 2010.

Others

Clerici also worked as a promotional actor for underwear and frozen products.

Christian Clerici has been working as an advertising entrepreneur since 2013. He also acts as an investor and business angel for various start-up companies .

Private life

Clerici lives in Vienna with his wife, a journalist and freelance artist.

His sporting hobbies include diving, skydiving and triathlon. In 2008 Clerici took part in the Ironman for the second time and reached the finish line in less than 11 hours.
