My Restaurant is a reality game show broadcast on the private TV station VOX .
The program is based on the Australian program My Restaurant Rules , which has now been internationally adapted and which was first produced and broadcast by Seven Network in 2004 .

At Mein Restaurant , five couples from five cities (in the 2008 season Berlin , Hamburg , Cologne , Leipzig , Munich ) compete against each other. Each of the couples tries to successfully implement a restaurant concept they have developed. At the beginning of the series, each of the couples is assigned a shabby gastronomic object that they have to develop into a functioning restaurant within eight weeks under the same conditions .
Through the evaluations of a jury - consisting of the cook Tim Mälzer , hotel manager Eva-Miriam Gerstner and the restaurateur Christoph Strenger - the couples can receive additional capital for the establishment of the business. To this end, the candidates present the concept and a business plan in two rounds .
Before the opening, a test dinner with a jury and a preview for families and friends of the couples will take place in all cities. With the official opening, the regular restaurant operations and the nomination phase begin.
Every two weeks, two of the five restaurants are nominated by the broadcaster, and in the following week one of them is voted out by viewers via telephone vote. The restaurant in question must be vacated within 15 minutes, the operators must return the keys and are therefore excluded from the program. The restaurant remains owned by the production company.
The winner of the game show and thus also of their own restaurant is the operator couple who are the last to stay in the game.
First season
In the first season in 2008 the following teams competed:

- Conny & Hannes from Hamburg - "Graurocks"
- Bita & Kay from Cologne - "copa room"
- Susann & Markus from Leipzig - "TessaNova"
- Anna & Toby from Munich - "Cheshire Cat"
In the broadcast of November 14, 2008, the restaurant in Leipzig was eliminated with a minimal difference to Munich, on November 28, 2008 the restaurant in Berlin. Munich and Hamburg contested the final, the Cologne restaurant was also eliminated.
In the finals on December 19, 2008, the restaurant in Munich won. The two candidates were thus allowed to keep their restaurant. The restaurant in Hamburg had to close.
Within a year the winning restaurant “Cheshire Cat” was insolvent, the operators saw the cause in a lack of experience and “poor or no” advice.
Second season
The second season originally announced by VOX for autumn 2009 has been postponed indefinitely, according to media reports.
