history
In mid-2004 the band formed in Vienna with Martin Pauser and Lex Machat around the lead singer Diana Lueger, who had previously worked for various bands and music projects, including Samsas Traum , Pogo and Tosca , also as a drummer .
Half a year later the band's first publication (in Austria and Germany) appeared on the NDW sampler Rio Reiser: Family album, volume 2 ( noble ). In 2005, Zweifrau took part in the pre-finals of the protest song contest with her song Schnitt . In the summer of 2005 the group was heard on the radio for the first time with this song and with Maybeer . Neither of them made it into the sales hit parades , but reached the top 40 of the most popular songs in the Ö3 listener charts.
After a one-year break, the band released the single Everything Turns , which reached number 29 in the Austrian sales charts as well as the top 10 of the Austrian and the top 30 of the German airplay charts in early 2007. This was followed by a nomination as Newcomer of the Year 2007 at the Amadeus Austrian Music Awards .
At the end of 2007, the single Intensiv was released, which rose to number 45 in the Austrian charts in the first week and climbed to 20th place. Second woman received an Austrian Newcomer Award for the music video for the single in January 2008. In April 2008, the band was nominated for an Amadeus Award for the second time in the newly introduced category Best Download of the Year . On May 18, 2008, the second woman played at the opening of the 16th Life Ball on Vienna City Hall Square.
On May 8th, 2009 the EP Remember You was released with two new songs and two remixes of them, followed by the single Wellenreiter . On February 5, 2010, the band presented their third album, Date Me , followed by the single Clubkultur .
