Halibut and roses
Heilbutt und Rosen is an Austrian cabaret group headed by the author and producer Helmuth Vavra , which has been performing traditional numbered cabaret since 1992 with changing line-ups and, from 2002, cabaret programs with a continuous plot. Often directed by Leo Bauer , other members are or were u. a. Berthold Foeger , Theresia Haiger , Markus Ch. Oezelt , Verena Scheitz , Sigrid Spörk , Reinhard Nowak and Thomas Stempkowski .
According to the group's self-portrayal, the name of the group refers to their role models Monty Python ( halibut appears in a dialogue in The Life of Brian ) and Loriot ( Rosen ).
Halibut and Roses satirically deal with everyday topics, especially the relationship between the sexes. Usually the programs take place in a dialogue between a man and a woman. This dialogue is supported by live music.
