Characters

Rudolf "Rudi" Deschek

Deschek, who is in his early forties and works for a money transport company, does not like his job and therefore hopes to be able to retire early as soon as possible. In his free time he likes to go ice stock sport with his colleagues . He also likes to listen to music by the band Ostbahn-Kurti and the lead role . Winning the lottery (first episode) leads him to reckless deeds, which is why the psychologist of the lottery society advises him to keep his wealth a secret from all acquaintances - including his family. Rudi is convinced that his profit will not change him.

Claudia Deschek-Beck

Rudi's wife is in her late thirties and works as a cleaner for an advertising agency. The marriage goes well, even if there are always disputes over money. She often visits her sister Elfi, who lives in the same house as the Deschek family. At the beginning, Claudia is the only one who knows about winning the lottery, along with mother-in-law Kriemhild.

Romeo Deschek

Rudi and Claudia's son is 18 years old and has just graduated from high school as the first of the Deschek family. It was named after the drummer in the lead role, Edi "Romeo" Jedelski. He wants to complete a musical education, even if his father doesn't like it.

Kriemhild Deschek

Rudi's mother is 63 years old, a widowed tram wife and a member of the Socialist Seniors. As the second person, she learns of the lottery win and immediately demands her share, since she is the actual owner of the communal apartment in the Deschek family.

Elfi Beck

Claudia's sister owns a successful hair salon in the community building. For several years she has had a love affair with a married man, which her sister Claudia displeases.

Dr. Rüdiger Rössler

The lottery company's psychologist is around forty, not married, and sensitive. Again and again he has to intervene when the Deschek family gets into an argument about the money. When he meets Elfi, he immediately takes a liking to her. He quickly makes friends with her and is a permanent guest in her hairdressing salon.
