Waldemar Kobus (* 1966 in Szczytno (German: Ortelsburg), Poland ) is a German actor .

life and career

Kobus came to Düren as a repatriate from Poland in 1970 and grew up there. In Düren he attended the Stiftisches Gymnasium . From 1988 to 1991 he trained as an actor at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich , followed by numerous theater engagements in Frankfurt , Bochum , Stuttgart , Zurich , Vienna and Cologne . He has been in front of the camera since the early 1990s and has been the focus of his work there since 2001.

Besides appearances in television series, he became known to a wide audience through the role of the hungry policeman Viktor Schimanek (# 2) in the comedy series Alles Atze ( RTL ). His portrayal of the amoral SS man Günther Franken in Paul Verhoeven's Black Book attracted international attention.

In 2007 he voiced the Yeti in Michael Herbig's animated film Lissi and the Wilder Kaiser and stood in front of the camera for the film Speed ​​Racer by Andy and Larry Wachowski , as well as the Berlin Police Chief in Bryan Singer's Operation Walküre - The Stauffenberg Assassination .
