Racing pig Rudi Rüssel is a series that was shown on ARD from 2008 . It goes back to the book Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel by Uwe Timm .

The series was first broadcast on February 23, 2008. Three seasons were produced, a total of 39 episodes were shown. Fritz Herrchen Fritz Fröhlich is played by Jasper Smets in the first season, by Finn-Lennard Eisenstein in the second season and by Lukas Karlsch in the third season . The other leading roles are played by Martin Lindow , Peter Franke , Regine Vergeen and İlknur Boyraz . Aylin Yelda Sengül as Ayla Koray and Imge Ünlü as Melinda Koray can be seen in youth roles . The scripts were written by Gabriele Kob, David Ungureit and Manfred Kosmann. Rolf Wellingerhof and Wolfgang Groos directed.

Daniel Fröhlich and his ten-year-old son Fritz, to his displeasure, move to the country with Grandma Betty and Grandpa Oskar. Once there, Fritz finds a piglet, saves it and they become friends. He takes the animal home with him, where it is finally discovered by his grandfather. Grandma Betty forbids him to keep the animal indoors because the piglet is destroying Grandma Betty's wedding vase. Some time later, when Fritz was sitting outside on the bench in the rain and cold, Grandma Betty was afraid that he would take something away and she decided that Rudi could go back into the house. A few weeks later, Rudi the piglet made a pile on the sofa. That's too much for Grandma Betty. Fritz moves to the VW T2 bus with Ayla. Grandma Betty took out pig insurance, which means that if Rudi does something, the 200 € will pay for it.

This action is continued in the further episodes.
