Puberty - The Film is a German comedy film by Leander Haußmann from 2017 . The script is based on the novel Das Pubertier (2014) by Jan Weiler .

The writer Hannes Wenger witnessed how his daughter Carla, just a cute little girl, hit puberty at the age of 14 . He tries desperately to raise her responsibly and to support her in this difficult phase of life, although he has a lot of goodwill, but always comes into conflict with her, since she usually has different views than him. So he constantly vacillates between striving to maintain his authority and the ideal of the loving, understanding father. In addition, his wife Sara will return to work at the same time. Wenger makes one mistake after another, which leads to embarrassing situations for everyone involved.

The film is based on the book of the same name by Jan Weiler from 2014. Leander Haußmann wrote the script adaptation together with Jan Weiler and directed it. Shooting began in Munich in September 2016 .

The film, which was released in German cinemas on July 6, 2017, was seen by around 900,000 visitors.

Almost at the same time as the film was commissioned by ZDF, a television series of the same name based on the same template was created .
