The 1. FC Monheim is established in 1910 German football club from the city of Monheim am Rhein . The club played in the Landesliga Niederrhein since the 2016/17 season and rose to third in the table after two playoffs against VfL Rhede because of the away goals rule in the Oberliga Niederrhein .

history

The club was founded in 1910 as a gymnastics and game club. The first soccer game was played in 1912. In the 1953/54 season, SV Monheim rose in 1910 from the district league to the district league. After the 1954/55 season, he went straight back to the district class. In 1955 the club merged with Sportfreunde Baumberg in 1926 to become Sportfreunde Monheim-Baumberg. In 1956 the team rose again to the district league, but again from the next year. In 1960, the former Fortuna Düsseldorf player and then German record national player, Paul Janes , once again managed to move up to the district league as coach. In 1962 the club was renamed 1. FC Monheim 1910 and Sportfreunde Baumberg 1926 became an independent club again. In 1987 1.
