The gymnastics club Jahn Hiesfeld e. V. is a German sports club in Dinslaken . In addition to football , handball , hockey , tennis , athletics , swimming , volleyball , taekwondo , various popular sports and gymnastics are also offered.

history

The TV Jahn Hiesfeld was founded on October 14th, 1906, in order to enable the club members the gymnastics of the gymnastics father Jahn. In 1907, TV Jahn Hiesfeld took part in a gymnastics competition for the first time. In the middle of 1915, sporting activities were temporarily suspended due to the First World War. On January 5, 1919, the association was brought back to life and operations resumed. In 1921 the women's department was also created. In 1923 handball, batball and fistball were added to the program.

In 1925 the handball players became champions of the Rhein-Lippe-Gaues. In the same year, construction work began on the Hiesfeld stadium. In 1928 the swimming department was founded. Wilhelm Brinkmann caused a real handball boom in 1936 . Brinkmann won Olympic gold with the German national handball team in Berlin. With the outbreak of the Second World War, club life came to a standstill again. In 1945 the football department of TV Jahn Hiesfeld was founded.

To this day, TV Jahn Hiesfeld is one of the largest clubs on the Lower Rhine. Well-known club members are or were Wolfgang de Beer , Serkan Çalık , Markus Feldhoff , Patrick Wiencek , Wilhelm Brinkmann and Reinhard van der Heusen .

The footballers of TV Jahn Hiesfeld took part in the 2009/10 season as promoted players in the Lower Rhine League. The team finished 8th at the end of the season with 13 wins, 6 draws and 13 defeats, a goal difference of 40:46 goals and 45 points.

In the following season of the Niederrheinliga 2010/11 they finished 9th at the end of the season with 14 wins, 9 draws and 13 defeats, 72:59 goals and 51 points. This season, the team was trained by former Bundesliga player Christian Schreier .

In the 2011/12 season, the footballers under coach Christoph Schlebach finished 5th in the Lower Rhine League (17 wins, 4 draws, 13 defeats; 55 points, 55:59 goals).

With the dissolution of the NRW league and the upgrading of the association leagues , TV Jahn Hiesfeld has been playing in the newly created Oberliga Niederrhein since 2012 . In the 2012/13 season, TV Jahn Hiesfeld took 9th place in the Oberliga Niederrhein with 16 wins, 6 draws and 16 defeats (54 points, 58:52 goals).

In the medium term, TV Jahn Hiesfeld is aiming for promotion to the Regionalliga West . In addition, TV Jahn Hiesfeld wants to move to the VfB Lohberg stadium , the Dorotheen-Kampfbahn, for the 2012/13 season . It is hoped that this will generate more income from sponsors and a larger number of spectators. The TV Jahn Hiesfeld has been marketed by Hellmich Marketing Management since 2011. On July 20, 2012, the President of VfB Lohberg declared the plans to move to Lohberg a rejection, but both clubs agreed that TV Jahn Hiesfeld may play the top games in Lohberg .

In the 2013/14 season , TV Jahn took 4th place in the major league, and in 2015/16 even 3rd place. After finishing 16th with 29 points in the 2018/19 season, TV Jahn had to relegate to the Lower Rhine regional league.

Special games of the football department

  • On August 30, 2006, a friendly match between TV Jahn Hiesfeld, then as a district division (8th division), took place against Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . The game ended 13-0 for Borussia Dortmund in front of around 2,500 spectators. The initiator of the friendly match was the former Bundesliga goalkeeper Wolfgang de Beer , who began his football career at TV Jahn Hiesfeld.
  • On May 11, 2010, TV Jahn Hiesfeld played a friendly against Bundesliga club 1. FC Köln . The game ended 6-0 for 1. FC Köln in front of about 500 spectators.
  • On August 28, 2013, a friendly match between TV Jahn Hiesfeld (Oberliga Niederrhein 5th division) took place against Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund . The game ended 8-0 for Borussia Dortmund in front of around 6,000 spectators.
  • In the semifinals of the Lower Rhine Cup 2013/2014, TV Jahn Hiesfeld (Oberliga Niederrhein) won 1-0 against KFC Uerdingen (Regionalliga West) on April 29, 2014. Danny Rankl scored the decisive goal in the 23rd minute of the game in front of 1,815 spectators in the Hiesfeld stadium at the swimming pool.
  • In the following final of the Lower Rhine Cup, the upper division was defeated by third division team MSV Duisburg on May 15th, 2014 in front of 24,002 spectators in the Duisburg Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena with 2: 5. Hiesfeld first took the lead in the 48th minute of the game through Dennis Hecht, before Markus Bollmann (50th), Branimir Bajic (55th), Michael Gardawski (59th), Gökan Lekesiz (63rd) and Kevin Wolze (66th) ) who scored Duisburg goals. Danny Rankl set the final point in the 78th minute to 2: 5 from Hiesfeld's point of view.

Football youth department

The youth department comprises 21 youth teams in the season. Among them, the A, B and D youth play in the performance class.

Handball department

In 1976 the "Veilchen" became champions in the district league, and in 1978 they were promoted to the association league. A year later one rose to the league, in order to then have to go back to the association league. In 1989 he was promoted to the league again, where they played until 2015. In 2019 he was promoted to the 5th division (Oberliga). A notable achievement was reaching the 2nd round of the DHB Cup in the 2007/08 season against HSG Nordhorn . There were also friendly matches against Tusem Essen, VfL Gummersbach and TBV Lemgo.

Well-known former players include Patrick Wiencek and Dennis Szczesny . The male A, B and C youth play in the highest youth division.

Hockey department

The men play on the field and in the hall in the upper league of the WHV. The women's team is a member of the 1st Association League in the Ruhr district both in the hall and on the field.
