The TVD Velbert (officially: Turnverein Dalbecksbaum Velbert 1870 eV ) is a sports club from Velbert in the Mettmann district . The men's soccer team was promoted to the Niederrhein Oberliga in 2019 .

history

The association was founded in 1870 and offers gymnastics still Handball (since 1925) and football (since 1933) to.

The footballers play their home games in the Grimmert Arena. This was formerly known as the Birth Sports Ground and holds 2,500 spectators. The footballers only played at the local level for decades and were relegated to the district B league in 2004. After the direct resurgence in 2007 succeeded in promotion to the district league. Four years later, the Velberters were runner-up there behind the Sportfreunde Niederwenigern .
