Björn Kluft (born January 11, 1990 in Wuppertal ) is a German soccer player .

Career

In his youth, Kluft was initially active as a goalkeeper for his hometown club Grün-Weiß Wuppertal before he moved to the youth team at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in 1999, where he was retrained as a midfielder. He was then taken over to the club's second team, which played in the Regionalliga West . In 2010 he received a two-year contract with second division relegated Rot Weiss Ahlen . After relegation from the 3rd division in 2011 , he joined third division promoted Preußen Münster , with whom he signed a contract until after the 2011/12 season and made his debut on August 13, 2011 in a game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena under coach Marc Fascher , when he came on for José Pierre Vunguidica in the second half and then played in 30 games for the Münster team and scored five goals during the entire season.

The second division club Eintracht Braunschweig signed Kluft for the 2012/13 season on a free transfer and provided him with a contract that ran until 2014. In preparation for the season he suffered a dislocation of the kneecap and only played one game in the season. At the end of the 2012/13 season he rose to the Bundesliga with Eintracht Braunschweig . In August 2013 he was loaned to SV Sandhausen for the rest of the season ; at the same time, his contract term was extended to 2015. During the winter break of the 2014/15 season, Kluft moved early to Rot-Weiss Essen in the Regionalliga West. For the 2015/16 season he went to the second division FC Erzgebirge Aue in the third division . and scored for the club the first league goal of the 2015/16 season, which ended with direct promotion. Kluft's stay at Erzgebirge Aue was characterized by injury problems, so he missed a large part of the remaining 2015/16 season due to a sudden hearing loss, a meniscus injury and a knee injury. In October 2016, he again sought treatment for chronic knee problems and finally terminated his contract in January 2017.

Shortly thereafter, he signed a contract with the south-west regional division FC 08 Homburg that ran until 2018. For the 2017/18 season, however, he moved back to the third division and played one season at Chemnitzer FC . In August 2018 he was signed by the newly promoted regional league SV Straelen , where he stayed until the end of the 2018/19 season. In July 2019, the club TVD Velbert , who had just been promoted to the Oberliga Niederrhein , announced Kluft's commitment.
