The Spvgg Sterkrade-Nord (officially: Sportvereinigung Sterkrade-Nord 1920/25 eV ) is a sports club from Oberhausen - Sterkrade . It was created in 1963 from the merger of the two predecessors Spielverein 1920 Sterkrade-Nord and DJK Frisch-Auf Sterkrade-Nord . With over 1300 members, the sports association is one of the largest sports clubs in Oberhausen.
history
In 1962, SV Sterkrade-Nord achieved its first promotion to the Lower Rhine Association League , the highest German amateur class at the time, as the champion of the Lower Rhine regional league . After the merger of the original clubs in 1963, relegation followed two years later. In 1966 and 1968, the sports association returned as champions of the regional league for one year in the association league. In 2020 he was promoted to the Oberliga Niederrhein .
