The 2020/21 season of the Oberliga Niederrhein is to be the 65th season of the Oberliga Niederrhein football league and the ninth as the fifth highest division in Germany under Oberliga status. The opening is planned for September 5, 2020, while the last matchday should be completed on June 20, 2021. A winter break is planned between December 20, 2020 and January 17, 2021.

Effects of the COVID-19 pandemic

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic , the preseason was declared prematurely ended on an extraordinary association day on June 24, 2020. The SV Straelen was determined to be promoted, there were no relegations to or from the Oberliga Niederrhein. From the national leagues, in which the quotient rule was also applied and the " autumn champions " were also taken into account, six teams were allowed to advance. The respective table thirds received the right of promotion, as the quotient masters had also been the first round winners.
