The 2020/21 season is set to be the 18th season of the A-Juniors Bundesliga . An opening date is not yet known.

After the preseason was declared prematurely ended due to the COVID-19 pandemic following a decision by the DFB on May 25, 2020, no reigning champions and cup winners will take part. Since the relegations were temporarily suspended, the field of participants will consist of the 42 participants from the previous season and the promoted players. The names of the promoted players were made by the respective division carriers in their own responsibility. In the North / Northeast and South / Southwest seasons, four new teams can participate in the game, and three in the West season.

A-Juniors Bundesliga 2020/21 (North / Northeast relay)

VfL Osnabrück and FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin take part as the quotient champions of the A-youth regional leagues north and north-east of the preseason . The runners-up of both regional leagues, Eimsbütteler TV and Hallesche FC , were also allowed to advance without hosting promotion games.

    From the subordinate leagues, SC Fortuna Köln rose as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein, SC Paderborn 07 as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Westfalen and Rot-Weiss Essen from the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Niederrhein in the A-Juniors -Bundesliga.

    The 1. FC Nürnberg from the A-Youth-Bayernliga and the FC-Astoria Walldorf from the A-Youth-Oberliga Baden-Württemberg came as direct climbers in the A-Juniors-Bundesliga. The champions of the A-Jugend-Regionalliga Südwest, 1. FC Saarbrücken , and the A-Jugend-Hessenliga, SV Darmstadt 98 , were also added because there were no promotion games.
