The 2018/19 season was the 16th season of the A-Juniors Bundesliga . It began on August 10, 2018 with the game between FC St. Pauli and RB Leipzig (North / Northeast relay) and ended with the final of the A Junior Championship on June 2, 2019.
As in the previous 14 seasons, it was played in the North / Northeast, South / Southwest and West seasons. At the end of the season, the three season winners and the runner-up in the West season played for the German A-Juniors football championship . The semi-finals were played back and forth, the final in one game. The three last-placed teams of the three seasons are relegated to the subordinate leagues.
Hertha BSC started the season as the reigning German champions, while SC Freiburg won the cup . German champion was Borussia Dortmund , cup winner of VfB Stuttgart .

As champions of the A-Youth Regional Leagues North and Northeast of the previous season, TSV Havelse and 1. FC Magdeburg took part in the A-Junior Bundesliga as direct promoters. The runners-up of both regional leagues , FC Carl Zeiss Jena and VfB Lübeck , played the third promoted team in a relegation , Jena won 2-1.

From the subordinate leagues, Alemannia Aachen rose as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Mittelrhein, SV Rödinghausen as a representative of the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Westfalen and Rot-Weiss Essen from the A-Jugend-Verbandsliga Niederrhein to the A-Juniors-Bundesliga .

As direct promoters, FC Ingolstadt 04 came from the A-Youth Bayern League and the Stuttgarter Kickers from the A-Youth Oberliga Baden-Württemberg in the A-Junior Bundesliga. The champions of the A-Jugend-Regionalliga Südwest, SV Elversberg , and the A-Jugend-Hessenliga, FSV Frankfurt , played the third promoted team in a relegation won by FSV Frankfurt.
