↑ 3rd league 2018/19 |
The 2018/19 season of the Regionalliga Nordost was the seventh season of the regional football league as the fourth-highest division in Germany. It was opened on July 27, 2018 with the game between Wacker Nordhausen and Hertha BSC II .
Season course
With the exception of the opening match day, the champions Chemnitzer FC occupied the top position throughout and were thus able to secure a direct return to the third division . As the only competitor, only the Berlin AK 07 could still hope for promotion, but the club did not apply for a license for the professional league.
On the last day of the match there were no relegated players; Promoted FSV Optik Rathenow , who was last from the 9th to the 32nd matchday, and FSV Budissa Bautzen competed for the penultimate place, but were dependent on none of the NOFV clubs FC Carl Zeiss Jena and Energie Cottbus relegating. With the relegation of FC Energie, both clubs would ultimately have had to move into the league. After the end of the season, however, it became known that FC Oberlausitz Neugersdorf will voluntarily relegate to the league despite relegation for economic reasons, relegated FSV Budissa Bautzen was planning a retreat into the state league. Due to the vacated space, the sporty relegated FSV Optik Rathenow was able to hold the class later.
