The 2017/18 season of the Regionalliga was the tenth season of the Regional Football League as the fourth-highest division in Germany.
Regional leagues
- Regionalliga Bayern 2017/18 with 19 teams from the Bavarian Football Association (BFV)
- Regionalliga Nord 2017/18 with 18 teams from the North German Football Association (NFV)
- Regionalliga Nordost 2017/18 with 18 teams from the Northeast German Football Association (NOFV)
- Regionalliga Südwest 2017/18 with 19 teams from the Football Regional Association Southwest and the South German Football Association (SFV) with the exception of the Bavarian Football Association
- Regionalliga West 2017/18 with 18 teams from the West German Football Association (WDFV)
Promotion Games
The champions of the five regional leagues and the runner-up of the Regionalliga Südwest took part in the promotion games to the 3rd division . The winners of the three drawn promotion games with a return leg rose.
The following teams qualified for the promotion games:
- Champion of the Regionalliga Bayern: TSV 1860 Munich
- Champion of the Regionalliga Nord: SC Weiche Flensburg 08
- Champion of the Regionalliga Nordost: Energie Cottbus
- Champion of the Regionalliga Südwest: 1. FC Saarbrücken
- Vice champion of the Regionalliga Südwest: SV Waldhof Mannheim
- Champion of the Regionalliga West: KFC Uerdingen 05
The draw took place on April 7, 2018 in the half-time break of the third division game between 1. FC Magdeburg and Karlsruher SC . A meeting between the two qualifiers of the Regionalliga Südwest was not possible. In order to avoid distortions of competition in the last games of the season, the two Südwest representatives were drawn only on April 27th.
The first leg took place on May 24 and the second leg on May 27, 2018.
