The 2017/18 DFB Junior Club Cup was the 32nd edition of this competition. It began on August 4, 2017 and ended on May 19, 2018 with the final in Berlin . For the first time, 32 teams took part in the cup instead of the previous 21. The SC Freiburg won by a 2: 1-final win against 1. FC Kaiserslautern the title for the sixth time.

With the new version of the implementation regulations for the DFB game regulations, the DFB has decided to increase the number of participants from 21 to 32 teams. In addition to the A-junior cup winners of the 21 national associations of the DFB, the defending champions, the A-junior champions and the three best-placed teams of all three seasons of the A-junior Bundesliga will take part from this season.

1 Hannover 96 moves up as the inferior finalist for cup winner VfL Wolfsburg, as Wolfsburg is already qualified via the relay placement.
2 TSG 1899 Hoffenheim moves up for the two finalists of the South West German Cup, 1. FC Kaiserslautern and 1. FSV Mainz 05, as Kaiserslautern and Mainz are already qualified via the relay placements.
3 SV Lippstadt 08 moves up as the inferior finalist for cup winners FC Schalke 04, as Schalke is already qualified via the relay placement.
4th VfL Bochum moves up for the champions of the season west, Borussia Dortmund, as Dortmund is already qualified as A-Junior champions.
