The 2017/18 season of the Regionalliga Bayern was the sixth season of the Football Regionalliga Bayern and the tenth season of the Football Regionalliga as the fourth-highest division in Germany. It began on July 13, 2017 with the game FC Memmingen against TSV 1860 Munich (1: 4) and ended on May 12, 2018. From December 5, 2017 to February 23, 2018 the season was interrupted by a winter break.

The following clubs qualified for the 2017/18 season:

1TSV 1860 Munich did not receive a license for the 3rd division . He was approved by the Bavarian Football Association to play in the regional league.
2The FC Unterföhring rose as runner-up because the master SV Pullach renounced the promotion.

Relegation from the Regionalliga Bayern

The two teams in positions 18 and 19 of the Regionalliga Bayern will be relegated at the end of the season. The two teams in places 16 and 17 play the remaining places in the Regionalliga Bayern with the two runners-up of the Bayernliga relays.

    A.After the end of the season, SV Seligenporten filed a complaint against FC Pipinsried with the association's sports court, because they had used players who were not club members. The proceedings were completely discontinued in June 2018.
