The Unterföhring 1927 eV football club is a sports club from the Upper Bavarian municipality of Unterföhring (district of Munich). Originally founded as a football club , it now has a further department for darts and a referee department.
history
The first attempt to set up a football club in Unterföhring was made in 1921. However, the community dissolved again in 1923 or 1924 due to financial problems. On March 6, 1927, 21 men founded FC Unterföhring, and Peter Oehm became its first chairman. A playing field was prepared in the Isarau and on August 5, 1927 the club played its first game against Blau-Elf Munich. In the early 1930s, a student team was also formed. The Second World War, in which many players died at the front, almost brought the club to an end. The later honorary chairman Fritz Kohler ensured survival and as early as 1946/47 the game was resumed with two senior teams and a youth team. In August 1950, a locker house built in-house was completed.
For the club, the amateur leagues of the Munich soccer district remained a sporting home for over 50 years. In the second term of office of President Dieter Norpoth, the association was realigned. Between 2002 and 2004, FC Unterföhring rose three times in a row to the Oberbayern regional league. After the championship in 2010 he was in the Bavarian South State League . In the 2011/12 season, the club rose thanks to the extended promotion rights as part of the division reform of the Bavarian Football Association after relegation against TSV Bad Abbach and FC Ergolding in the now fifth-class Bayernliga Süd.
After five seasons in the Bayern league, FC Unterföhring became runner-up in the 2016/17 season and - since champions SV Pullach did not apply for a license - their first promotion to the Bavarian regional league . Because its own stadium in Unterföhring does not meet the requirements for the highest amateur league, the first team has been playing its home games in the Heimstetten sports park ( Kirchheim municipality ) ever since . With the new construction of the Unterföhring sports park on Mitterfeldallee south of the industrial park, a small stadium is to be built by autumn 2020 that meets the requirements of the regional league.
The team was relegated at the end of the 2017/18 season and was passed through to the state league in the following 2018/19 Bayern league season, as Unterföhring lost the relegation against FC Deisenhofen .
