history

The first men's soccer team was promoted to the Bayern League in the 2008/09 season , where it held the class after a “relegation thriller” with three wins in a row.

After a 3-0 win in the semifinals of the Bavarian Association Cup against the second team of FC Augsburg and SV Seligenporten won the Bavarian State Cup in July 2007 with a 1-0 in the final against Würzburger FV . By participating in the finals, SV Seligenporten was qualified for the first main round of the DFB Cup in the 2007/08 season , where it met Bundesliga club Arminia Bielefeld and was eliminated with a 2-0 defeat. Since then a friendship has been cultivated between Arminia Bielefeld and SV Seligenporten. The Arminia Supporters Club initiated this. Fan groups from both clubs visited each other again and again. For example, the Armines were welcome guests on the 60th anniversary of SV Seligenporten in 2009. The fans of the “Klosterer” took part in the 2008 Christmas party of the Arminia Supporters Club.

The best-known players who have played competitive games for SV Seligenporten include ex-Bundesliga player Roland Grahammer and ex-national player Thomas Helmer .
