The ASV Neumarkt is a sports club in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate with divisions for football , bowling , boxing , fist ball , judo , kickboxing , weight training , track and field , cycling , wheel gymnastics , wrestling , wheelchair sports , swimming , taekwondo , dance sports , tennis , table tennis , gymnastics , Volleyball and winter sports .
Soccer story
The first sports club in Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate was TV 1860 Neumarkt , which played a soccer game for the first time in 1913. In 1922 the foal farm at today's Faberpark was expanded into a sports field. It was not until 1929 that the football department came into being. Due to the necessity of the first DM time, the four Neumarkt sports clubs (Germania, Ski- and Tennisclub, TV 1860 and the TSV) merged in December 1950 to form the Allgemeine Sportverein 1860 Neumarkt eV and from then on played in the district league, where they were already in 1951 relegated to the A-class. Only in May 1953 succeeded in returning to the district league. In 1971 the ASV reached the Bavarian League for the first time and also heralded the most successful decade to date, which forced the club to build a new sports facility. In 1974 the move to the ASV sports center was completed. ASV Neumarkt was able to hold its own in the Bavarian League until 1982 , before they had to accept the move to the district league. In May 2000, the club managed to return to the Bayern League, but they could not hold on and played from relegation in 2002 in the Landesliga Mitte . After the league reform in 2012, ASV Neumarkt was grouped into the Bayernliga Nord , from which it had to relegate in 2013/14 . In May 2016, the club was promoted back to the Bayernliga Nord and finished fifth there. In the 2017/18 season, the first team played after the reclassification from the north group to the south in the Bayernliga Süd, which they finished with eighth place. For the following season, the return to the northern season took place. The background is that both seasons should have the same number of clubs as far as possible and, with the relegation of clubs from the Regional League Bavaria or the rise of clubs from the five regional leagues, geographically centrally located clubs such as ASV Neumarkt, sometimes between the north and south seasons commute. In 2019 ASV was relegated from the Bayernliga Nord.
