Life

Hubert Schöll, born in 1946, started playing soccer at his home club ASV Neumarkt . For the 1964/65 season he moved to 1. FC Nürnberg and played for the amateurs of the "Club". For the 1965/66 season he was accepted into the Bundesliga squad, but was not yet used. Schöll made his debut under coach Max Merkel on March 25, 1967 in a 0-2 away defeat at 1. FC Cologne in the Bundesliga. He formed the attack of 1. FC Nürnberg on the right wing with Heini Müller , Heinz Strehl , Franz Brungs and Georg Volkert .

When Nuremberg surprisingly won the German championship title in 1968 , he had a personal share through three appearances: On November 11, 1967, he came on for Zvezdan Čebinac in a 2-0 away defeat at MSV Duisburg, and on January 20, 1968, he played the second half for August Starek who had been substituted in the 3-1 defeat at Hamburger SV and finally played on April 6th as a center forward in a 2-1 home win in front of 45,000 spectators against 1. FC Köln. For the 1968/69 season, Schöll was signed with his club colleagues Hans-Werner Kremer and Jürgen Seifert from Hamburger SV. Since other newcomers with goalkeeper Gert Girschkowski , Robert Pötzschke , Jürgen Dringelstein and Klaus Fock came to the "Rautenträger", the squad of coach Kurt Koch and "football boss" Georg Knöpfle was well equipped. In 1968/69 Schöll showed his suitability for the Bundesliga in 15 missions (1 goal) and HSV took 6th place; his former club, the German champions of 1968, 1. FC Nürnberg, sensationally relegated from the Bundesliga. In the trade fair cup he was also used in two games against Slavia Prague (1: 3) and Hibernian Edinburgh (1: 2). When Siegfried Beyer , Norbert Hof , Peter Nogly and Klaus Zaczyk had four reinforcements at HSV in the 1969/70 season , the chances of being deployed decreased drastically. Schöll was only used on August 23, 1969 in a 2-1 defeat at Borussia Dortmund. After 16 Bundesliga games (1 goal) at Hamburger SV, he returned to his home club ASV Neumarkt in Bavarian amateur football in the summer of 1970.

With Neumarkt the returnees reached the championship in the state league in 1970/71 and thus promotion to the Bavarian league . With the newcomer, he finished fourth in the Bavarian League 1971/72 in 1971/72 and had again drawn attention to professional football. He signed a contract with Linz ASK for the 1972/73 season and played in the first-class national league . With coach Otto Barić and teammates like Rudolf Nafziger , August Starek , Gerhard Sturmberger and Johann Kondert , Schöll and colleagues took 6th place ; the newcomer from Neumarkt had scored eight goals in 25 league games. In the first half of 1973/74 he completed another ten games (2 goals) and then went back to Germany and joined KSV Hessen Kassel in the second-rate Regionalliga Süd. There he made his debut on November 10, 1973 in a 1: 2 away defeat in Bürstadt, wrestled the last champions of the old Regionalliga Süd, FC Augsburg with Helmut Haller on November 18 in front of 20,000 spectators in the Auestadion and was in his third regional league appearance on November 25th, a double goal scorer in a 2-0 away win at Jahn Regensburg. At the end of the round, he had scored eight goals in 16 appearances and Kassel came in 16th.

In Kassel, the player was active in the Hessenliga until 1975 - he finished third with the relegated 1974/75 and scored 16 goals in 23 games - and then in the lower amateur classes.

Schöll took his own life in November 1992.
