Norbert Hof

Norbert Hof (born February 2, 1944 in Vienna - † July 4, 2020 ) was an Austrian football player who played on the position of defender or midfielder.

Career

He began his career at the Wiener Sport-Club , for which he worked from 1962 to 1964. In the 1964/65 season he then joined Wacker Vienna , but returned to the Wiener Sport-Club in 1965. After four years he left the club again. This time his path led him to the German Bundesliga, where he was in the ranks of Hamburger SV in the 1969/70 season. The international experience was followed by a further engagement at the sports club from Vienna in 1970/71 before he switched to Rapid Vienna in 1971 . From 1976 until 1980 he played again at the Wiener Sportclub.

successes

Twice Austrian Cup winner with Rapid Vienna and 31 calls-up to the national team between 1968 and 1975. He made his debut in the 7-1 win in Vienna against Cyprus on May 19, 1968 in the match of the World Cup qualification, group 7, his last on May 16 March 1975 in the 2-1 victory of Austria in the Stade Municipal in Luxembourg in the match of the European Championship qualification, group 2. - He also scored his only goal for the national team in a competitive game. betw. in the World Cup qualification, group 1, on April 30, 1972 in Vienna in a 4-0 win against Malta , where he fixed the final score in the 85th minute of the game and was the 77th scorer of a goal in the international series since the end of the war.
