Roland Seitz (born October 1, 1964 in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Career
As a player
He was a youth player at ASV Neumarkt and he succeeded over the upper division SpVgg Unterhaching (1985/86), FC Augsburg (1986/87), 1. FC Amberg (1987-1989) and TSV Vestenbergsgreuth (1989-1992) as the top scorer in the upper league Jump into professional business at MSV Duisburg , for whom he was active in 16 second division games (3 goals) from 1992/1993 and in a Bundesliga game in 1993/94. During the winter break of the 1993/94 season, the offensive player moved back to the second division for FC 08 Homburg , where he was still active in two games. He then played one more season at FC Augsburg and moved to his home club ASV Neumarkt (1995-1998) as a player-coach. He ended his active career as a player- coach at SpVgg Jahn Forchheim , which he coached in the Bavarian League in 1999/2000 .
As a trainer
First he was active as a player coach at ASV Neumarkt for three years and celebrated a. a. promotion to the regional league center . He was also able to convince as a coach in his other stations and already celebrated promotion to the Bayern League at his next club, SSV Jahn Regensburg , which he supervised in the 1998/99 season .
After one season (1999/2000) with SpVgg Jahn Forchheim , he moved to the second team of SpVgg Greuther Fürth , with whom he was able to seal promotion to the regional league middle and a year later even promotion to the Bayernliga. Curious about it: In the last weeks of the 1999/2000 season, Seitz Jahn coached Forchheim and the Fürth amateur representation at the same time. While he managed to stay up in the league with Forchheim (the club voluntarily withdrew from the Bayern League), he achieved promotion to the regional league with a 2-1 win at TSV Neunkirchen.
His most successful time to date was with 1. SC Feucht from 2001/02 to 2004/05. He initially held the relegation candidate successfully in the Bayern League and rose to the Regionalliga Süd in 2002/03 . As the only newcomer, Feucht was able to confidently establish itself in eighth place in the Regionalliga Süd with a very small budget under his leadership. However, the club had to withdraw in the 2004/05 season due to bankruptcy from the Regionalliga Süd.
After a year break and a short guest appearance from June to September 2006 at the upper division club Eintracht Trier , Seitz moved to the second division club SC Paderborn 07 in the fall , where he succeeded the resigned head coach Jos Luhukay . At the end of the first half of the 2006/07 season, Seitz faced massive fan protests. The focus of the criticism was on the way some players were dealt with - especially with the disgraced Yilmaz Örtülü - and his general public image. The board of directors initially expressed their confidence in him, but at the end of December 2006 he was released from his coaching duties in Paderborn.
On December 29, 2007 it was announced that he would succeed Gerd Schädlich at FC Erzgebirge Aue . After only ten points from twelve league games, the club announced the premature separation after just four months, on April 21, 2008. On June 26th, 2008 the regional league team SSV Reutlingen announced the engagement of Roland Seitz as coach for July 1st, 2008. He was given a one-year contract. He dissolved this after Reutlingen filed for bankruptcy.
Seitz returned to Eintracht Trier for the 2010/11 season, where he took over the management of the first team playing in the regional league. After a weak start after the 2014 winter break, Seitz was released from his duties as trainer and sporting director of Eintracht Trier in March 2014. His successor was the former coach of SV Elversberg , Jens Kiefer .
On April 14, 2014, Seitz took over the position of the sports board of SV Elversberg. On the same day, he also took over the position of head coach from Dietmar Hirsch , who had been released after the previous 2-0 defeat against SpVgg Unterhaching . Seitz was the descent of Elversberg from the 3. Liga not stop, then bounded back on the function of the sporting director. Willi Kronhardt was his successor as trainer .
After Karsten Neitzel was released on March 11, 2018, Seitz also took over the coaching position on an interim basis; on April 15, the club announced that Seitz will also be working in the double function in the following season. After a mixed start to the 2018/19 regional league season , the Saarland club parted ways with Seitz at the end of October and appointed the previous head of scouting, Nils-Ole Book, as successor to sports director and Horst Steffen as successor to coach.
For the 2019/20 season , Seitz will take over the position of head coach at VfR Aalen, who was relegated to the Regionalliga Südwest .
