Toni Vastić (born January 17, 1993 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player . He is the son of the former Austrian national soccer player Ivica Vastić .

Career

Vastić began playing football shortly after his seventh birthday in the youth department of SK Sturm Graz , in whose first team his father Ivica was playing at the time. After his father's club change to FK Austria Wien in 2003, he played there for two years in its youth department. From 2005 to 2009 he was a member of the Linz Football Academy . In 2009 he moved to Blackburn Rovers at the age of 16 and was part of their U-18 team. After two seasons he was signed by Bayern Munich , for whose second team he was used in the fourth-class regional soccer league . He played his first league game in professional football on August 8, 2011 (1st matchday) in a 2-2 away game against 1. FC Nürnberg II . This was followed by 27 more appearances in the regional league with a total of five goals until he moved to the Austrian first division club SV Ried in January 2013 . There he made his debut on February 16, 2013 (21st matchday) when he came on as a substitute in a 3-0 home win against FC Wacker . During the 2015 winter break, he moved to league rivals FC Admira Wacker Mödling .

For the 2017/18 season he moved to the third-rate amateurs of his youth club Austria Wien. He made his debut on August 4, 2017 (1st matchday) in a 3: 3 draw at home against FC Admira Wacker Mödling II ; He scored his first goal on October 24, 2017 (14th matchday) in a 1-1 draw in the home game against SK Rapid Wien II with the opening goal to make it 1-0 in the 18th minute. In December 2017 he made his debut for the professionals from Austria when he came on as a substitute for Petar Gluhakovic in the 82nd minute against SCR Altach on matchday 19 of that season .

After the 2018/19 season he left Austria and moved to Germany to the regional league team VfR Aalen , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2020.

Vastić, who also has Croatian roots, played for several Austrian junior national teams from the U-16s to the U-21s .
