The DJK Vilzing (officially . German youth force Vilzing eV ) is a sports club from the Cham district Vilzing . The club was founded on June 4, 1967 and joined the Catholic DJK Sports Association . In addition to the successful soccer department, there are departments for skiing and gymnastics.
History of the football department
The footballers of the DJK Vilzing played for decades at district level before the regional entrepreneur Manfred Zollner began to financially support his home club in the 1990s. From the B-Class it went to the Bavarian League within 20 years . The maximum goal of those responsible is the Regionalliga Bayern .
In 1995 he was promoted to the Oberpfalz district league for the first time with player-coach Thomas Bauer. With the district league championship in 1998, the club qualified for the district league, two years later followed the first promotion to the state league . Interrupted by two relegations in 2006 and 2011, the DJK played in the state league for twelve years. In 2008 and 2013 the club failed in relegation to the Bayern League. In 2014, coach Sepp Beller finally made it to the Bayern League with a win against FC Affing .

The DJK Vilzing plays its home games in the Manfred Zollner Stadium, which was built in 2002 and holds 3,480 spectators. The stadium has a covered grandstand with seating for 325 people.
