The SC Eltersdorf is a sports club from the Erlangen district of Eltersdorf . It was founded in 1926 as a workers gymnastics and sports club . It has had its current name since 1946. The club offers a wide range of sports, such as B. football , gymnastics , handball , rock 'n' roll , tennis , taekwondo and bowling . It is now one of the five major clubs in Erlangen.

The club's soccer team rose to the national league for the first time in 2001 . In 2011 the championship in the Landesliga Mitte and promotion to the Bayernliga succeeded . In 2012 he achieved the sporting qualification for the 2012/13 season of the Regionalliga Bayern, for which he had already received approval. On May 9, 2012, SC Eltersdorf played in the Langenau sports complex in front of 2,000 spectators in the final of the Bavarian Toto Cup against SpVgg Unterhaching, losing 3: 4 after a 3-2 lead. On May 16, 2012 the game for the second place of a Bavarian team in the DFB-Pokal between SC Eltersdorf and SV Wacker Burghausen took place at the Langenau sports complex , which despite a 1-0 lead in the first half in a 1: 2 defeat ended. In the regional league, the sports club played as a climber in its first season against relegation. Surprisingly, after a 3-1 win against the amateurs of FC Bayern Munich , coach Ludwig Preis announced his resignation for professional reasons during the winter break. Dieter Lieberwirth became his successor . With a 4-0 defeat at TSV 1860 Rosenheim on the last day of the 2012/13 season , the club was relegated to the Bayern League and Lieberwirth had to leave the club again. After Hendrik Baumgart had been the coach for three seasons, Bernd Eigner was hired for the 2015/16 season .
