Bernd Eigner (born May 1, 1972 in Bamberg ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Career
As a player
Eigner began playing football as a center forward when he was nine years old in the C-youth team at SC Stettfeld . After two years he moved to 1. FC 01 Bamberg . In 1990 he moved to SC 08 Bamberg , where he was retrained to become a central defender . He went to VfL Frohnlach via 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 and TSV Vestenbergsgreuth .
In 1996, the then 24-year-old made the leap into professional business at FC St. Pauli . In the Bundesliga season 1996/97 he came to 23 games and two goals. After relegation with St. Pauli, Eigner moved to Hannover 96 via Arminia Bielefeld , with whom he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . He also rose to the second division with Eintracht Braunschweig and SC Paderborn 07 .
His last positions were at Bonner SC , SV Waldhof Mannheim and FSV Erlangen-Bruck , before Eigner ended his playing career in 2010 due to knee injuries.
As a trainer
After the end of his career, the owner Gerd Klaus assisted the FSV Erlangen-Bruck . He then became assistant coach behind Christoph Starke at FC Eintracht Bamberg , with whom he was promoted to the Bayern Regionalliga . In October 2012 he took over the Bayern league club SV Memmelsdorf / Ofr. From July 1, 2014, he took over 1. FC Sand . Two years later, the owner moved to SC Eltersdorf .
successes
His greatest success was his three-time promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga with Hannover 96, Eintracht Braunschweig and SC Paderborn.
