Andreas Jakob

Andreas Jakob (born October 28, 1955 in Würzburg ) is a German archivist and historian . He is head of the Erlangen City Archives.

Life

From 1978 to 1983 Andreas Jakob studied art history, Franconian and Bavarian regional history and classical archeology at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. In 1993 he obtained his doctorate with a doctorate in history. Between 1993 and 1996 he attended the archive school in Munich, where he graduated with the second state examination. Since 1984 he has been a research assistant at the City Museum and City Archives Erlangen and in 2007 became head of the City Archives Erlangen.

In addition to numerous publications, above all on the history of architecture, the city, the university and students in Erlangen, the November pogrom 1938, the history of the planned German cities, the Franconian regional and church history and lexicon and handbook articles, he is also the editor and co-editor of various books, u. a. of the Erlangen City Lexicon since 2002.
