history

Pipinsried applies according to tradition as a founding Pippin the Younger , Frankish house Meier from the sex of the Carolingian and since 751 King of the Franks. In fact, the name of the place was first mentioned in a document in the traditions of the Tegernsee Monastery around 1056 . From 1424 Pipinsried was an ecclesiastical Hofmark with the Hofmarkherr Monastery Indersdorf . It stayed that way until the monastery was dissolved in 1783. Today's parish church of St. Dionysius is essentially late Gothic, although there was a first church in Pipinsried as early as the 13th century. The current nave dates from 1729. Pipinsried was built as an independent political municipality in the course of the administrative reforms in Bavaria in 1818. As part of the regional reform in Bavaria on May 1, 1978, this was largely incorporated into Altomünster, with 351 of a total of 444 inhabitants as of the census of May 27, 1970. Only the eastern part of the community with the village of Wagenried and the hamlet of Schönberg came to Markt Indersdorf .
